Refund policy
Giraux Exchange and Return Policy
Except for the limited exchange and return rights expressly stated below, all sales are final. Because many Giraux pieces are handcrafted, specially sourced, or made to order in our workshop, eligibility depends on the type and condition of the merchandise and the manner in which it was purchased.
In-Store Purchases
An in-store purchase is any purchase made through a Giraux sales associate, whether completed at our showroom or remotely.
Eligible in-stock items may be exchanged within 15 calendar days of the later of:
-
the date payment was made in full; or
-
the date the item was picked up or delivered.
In-store purchases are eligible for exchange only and are not eligible for refunds.
To qualify for an exchange:
-
the item must be in its original, unworn, undamaged, and unaltered condition, with no signs of wear;
-
the item must not have been sized, engraved, set, fabricated, altered, or otherwise modified;
-
any security or merchandise tag must remain intact and attached;
-
all certificates, grading reports, documentation, packaging, accessories, and other materials originally provided must be returned; and
-
the original receipt, order number, or other acceptable proof of purchase must be provided.
Items sized, set, engraved, altered, sourced, or otherwise prepared at the customer’s request are considered special or custom orders and are not eligible for exchange.
Online Purchases
An online purchase is a purchase initiated and completed directly through www.giraux.com without the individualized assistance of a Giraux sales associate.
Except for special or custom orders, eligible online purchases may be returned in accordance with the following requirements:
-
The customer must request a return authorization from Giraux within 7 calendar days after confirmed delivery.
-
Once authorization and return instructions have been issued, the customer must ship the item within 3 business days.
-
Returns sent without prior authorization will not be accepted.
-
The original receipt, order number, or other acceptable proof of purchase must be provided.
For purposes of this policy, delivery occurs on the date the shipping carrier records the package as delivered or first makes it available for pickup following an attempted delivery.
To qualify for a return:
-
the item must be in its original, unworn, undamaged, and unaltered condition, with no signs of wear;
-
the item must not have been sized, engraved, set, fabricated, altered, or otherwise modified;
-
any security or merchandise tag must remain intact and attached; and
-
all certificates, grading reports, documentation, packaging, accessories, and other materials originally provided must be returned.
Return Shipping Requirements
Except when Giraux confirms that an item was damaged, defective, or incorrectly fulfilled, the customer is responsible for all return-shipping costs.
All returns must be:
-
packaged securely in accordance with Giraux’s instructions;
-
shipped by an overnight delivery service;
-
sent using a trackable shipping method with signature confirmation;
-
insured or otherwise covered for the item’s full value using a carrier and shipping method approved by Giraux; and
-
scheduled for delivery during Giraux’s regular open hours, Tuesday through Saturday.
Returns must not be scheduled for delivery on Sunday, Monday, holidays, or outside Giraux’s open hours. The customer must not identify the contents as jewelry or use “Giraux” or any jewelry-related wording on the exterior of the package unless specifically instructed by Giraux.
The customer remains responsible for the merchandise until it is physically received by Giraux. Giraux is not responsible for merchandise that is lost, stolen, damaged, delayed, misdirected, delivered outside the approved delivery schedule, left unattended, or otherwise not received while in transit.
Any claim concerning loss or damage during return transit must be made by the customer directly with the shipping carrier. A return is not complete merely because the carrier records the package as shipped or delivered.
Giraux may, at its discretion, provide an approved return label. Unless the return results from an error by Giraux or confirmed damage or defect, the cost of that label may be deducted from the customer’s refund.
Packages sent cash on delivery will not be accepted.
Inspection and Acceptance
All returned merchandise is subject to inspection and verification by Giraux before any return or exchange is approved. Inspection may include confirmation of the item’s identity, condition, weight, measurements, gemstones, serial numbers, inscriptions, certificates, and other identifying characteristics.
A return is not considered accepted until Giraux has completed its inspection and confirmed that all requirements of this policy have been satisfied.
Giraux may deny a return or exchange if an item:
-
shows signs of wear, damage, alteration, repair, or use;
-
is missing a gemstone, component, certificate, grading report, tag, accessory, or other item originally provided;
-
differs from the merchandise originally sold;
-
has been sized, engraved, set, modified, or serviced after purchase; or
-
otherwise fails to comply with this policy.
Giraux will contact the customer if a return is not accepted. Unless otherwise agreed, the customer will be responsible for the cost of returning an ineligible item to the customer.
Refunds
Once an eligible online return has been received, inspected, and accepted, Giraux will issue the refund to the original form of payment.
The refund will include the eligible purchase price and applicable sales tax. Original shipping, delivery, insurance, handling, expedited-service, and return-shipping charges are nonrefundable, except when the return results from an error by Giraux or an item confirmed by Giraux to have arrived damaged or defective.
Any discount, promotional credit, gift card, or other consideration applied to the original purchase will be reflected in the refund calculation. Cash refunds will not be issued for purchases made by another form of payment.
Processing times imposed by banks, card issuers, or payment providers are outside Giraux’s control.
Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items
The ordinary return-shipping provisions above do not apply when an item arrives damaged, is materially defective, or differs from the item ordered.
The customer must contact Giraux promptly after delivery and before wearing, altering, repairing, or returning the item. The customer must retain the item, all packaging, shipping materials, certificates, and documentation and provide photographs or other information reasonably requested by Giraux.
Giraux will inspect the matter and provide specific instructions. Customers must not ship a damaged, defective, or incorrect item without prior authorization.
When Giraux confirms that the item was damaged, defective, or incorrectly fulfilled, Giraux will determine the appropriate remedy and will provide or reimburse reasonable approved return shipping when a return is required. This provision does not cover damage resulting from wear, misuse, accident, improper care, unauthorized repair, alteration, or failure to follow care instructions.
Special and Custom Orders
Special and custom orders are final sale and are not eligible for return, refund, or exchange.
A special or custom order includes any item sourced, selected, ordered, created, fabricated, assembled, sized, engraved, set, altered, modified, or otherwise prepared according to a customer’s specifications, selections, or instructions.
This includes, without limitation:
-
specially sourced loose diamonds or gemstones;
-
non-stock designs, sizes, lengths, metals, finishes, or configurations;
-
rings or other items sized at the customer’s request;
-
gemstones selected or set at the customer’s request;
-
engraved or personalized items;
-
modified in-stock merchandise;
-
made-to-order, partially completed, or unfinished jewelry; and
-
merchandise acquired or produced specifically for the customer.
Deposits, design fees, sourcing costs, labor charges, and payments associated with special or custom orders are nonrefundable once the applicable sourcing, design, fabrication, alteration, or other work has begun, unless Giraux agrees otherwise in writing.
Gifts
Gift recipients may be eligible for an exchange only when the merchandise otherwise satisfies this policy and acceptable proof of purchase is provided.
Any approved refund will be issued only to the original purchaser using the original form of payment. Gift recipients will not receive cash or a refund to a different payment method.
Exceptions and Restocking Fees
Any exception to this policy must be approved by Giraux management and is made solely at Giraux’s discretion. An exception granted on one occasion does not obligate Giraux to grant the same or any other exception in the future.
An approved exception may be subject to a reasonable restocking, handling, shipping, repair, or restoration charge. Any applicable charge will be disclosed before the exception is completed.
Nothing in this policy limits any rights or remedies that cannot legally be limited or waived.
Except for the limited rights expressly stated in this policy, the standard Giraux policy remains: All sales are final.
